Why Music & Mindfulness?

Benefits of Music Therapy

According to the British Association for Music Therapy (BAMT), music therapy is an established psychological clinical intervention. It is highly effective in managing anxiety, stress, and depression. Surveys indicate that 81% of people find it helps them relax, while 70% value it as a non-verbal therapeutic outlet that helps divert focus away from difficult feelings.

Sound Baths and Sensory Healing

A "sound bath" uses traditional wind and percussion instruments (such as Tibetan singing bowls, gongs, and crystal bowls) to create soothing, overlapping vibrations. Research highlights that these vibrations can trigger deep relaxation by shutting off the body's fight-or-flight reflex, significantly decreasing tension, anxiety, and negative moods.

Mindfulness for Children & Young People

The NHS actively encourages mindfulness for children to support their mental health. Techniques like imagination breathing, counting breaths, mindful grounding (focusing on senses), and visualisation are highly effective in helping young people clear their thoughts, appreciate their feelings, and find a "cool down space."
